MercadoLibre, XP, Embraer Take Off On Brazil Election Results

XP is Thursday's IBD Stock Of The Day as Brazil's leading provider of low-fee financial services stands to benefit from Wednesday's rate cut by the central bank even as the Federal Reserve hiked its key rate. XP stock, which was added to Investor's Business Daily's SwingTrader portfolio today, is actionable as it rises toward a cup-with-handle buy point. Brazil's central bank cut its benchmark interest rate, the Selic, to 13.75% from 14% as the 12-month inflation rate continued to trend lower in August, to 4.2% from a peak of 4.7% in May. Lower interest rates and inflation could lead to more risk-taking and a higher take-rate for XP, as well as more fee revenue for managing debt issuance for corporate clients.
